It was a wild and physical game between the Montreal Canadiens and Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night, with a scrum occurring after nearly every whistle.

After missing a glorious chance on the powerplay to re-take the lead, Montreal Canadiens forward Juraj Slafkovsky was frustrated and dropped the mitts for his first career NHL fight with Connor Clifton of the Sabres.

As Slafkovsky was about to leave Buffalo's zone and skate back to the Canadiens' bench, Clifton tapped the former first-overall pick on the backside, which he didn't take kindly too.

Slafkovsky then grabs Clifton as they glide towards the glass near the Sabres, pushing and shoving, before the gloves came off, with the Sabres defenceman landing a couple shots on the Canadiens forward before the two were separated and ushered to the penalty box.

Slafkovsky was hoping to spark his team and it appeared to work, as the 19-year-old would go on to score the shootout winner to give the Canadiens the victory.
