The New York and New Jersey rivalry has always known to become heated, especially between fans. With such little distance between arenas and fanbases, usually these regional rivalry games become heated in the stands.
During the last playoff game between the Devils and Rangers, the fan rivalry lived up to expectations in an ugly way. From an unimpressed angle above, a smaller Rangers fan visibly jumps and chokes out a much larger Devils fan, who collapses to the ground looking much worse for wear.
The Devils fan was able to get up, but stumbled around in a moment of disorientation before the video ends. No word of any consequences for the Rangers fan has been communicated by the Devils or Prudential centre.
