As a new season begins for the San Jose Sharks, expectations are extremely low. In the midst of a likely long rebuild however, current Sharks players aren't just going to roll over.
In their regular season home opener against the defending champion Vegas Golden Knights, one Shark player tried to send a message to the rest of the team early. Kyle Burroughs of the San Jose Sharks grabbed Vegas' enforcer Keegan Kolesar to square off in a fight in the first five minutes of the season.
After landing some significant blows early on, the fight slowed tailed on as a wrestling match, before Kolesar delivered some hard right hooks to Burroughs, and the referees broke up the fight.
All throughout the NHL's opening night, fights have broken out as teams look to ignite the fans and the rest of their team. Could fighting make its way back to being more common in the NHL?
