Fighting in hockey is something that in this day and age is a hotly debated topic, some fans believe that fighting belongs in hockey today, while others share a very different school of thought. The thing is; fighting has been ingrained on the sport for a very long time and this year in the National Hockey League there's certainly been a resurgence.
Take last night for example, when the Minnesota Wild visited the Florida Panthers, that game not only delivered a one punch knockout, but a hell of a marathon tilt as well; take a look.
In the second fight of the 1st period last night, forwards Jonah Gadjovich and Marcus Foligno dropped the gloves for a tilt that looked like it was never going to end.
At first the upper hand needs to be given to Gadjovich who was the more aggressive fighter during this scrap and landed the majority of the punches, but Foligno took most of them like a champ and fired back with a couple of shots of his own.
The two were eventually separated by the officials because of exhaustion, but both of those players are as tough as they come.
