Arber Xhekaj has been all over the place during the preseason, tonight in a game between the Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens was no different after a hit.

The Montréal Canadiens have an old-school hockey player on their hands in Arber Xhekaj, he plays the game in a way that makes people afraid. There's a reason he's earned the nickname, sheriff, and tonight against the Ottawa Senators. He was up to his old tricks.

Xhekaj was forced to answer the bell after a questionable hit near centre ice with Ottawa Senators forward Zack MacEwen going right after him.

Like I said above, it has been quite the preseason for Xhekaj as he has been taking names and proving that he is one of the most ready willing and able combatants in the sport.

Of course, MacEwen was going to challenge him after a hit at centre ice, but as always Xhekaj makes every one of his opponents regret their decision as soon as their gloves are dropped.

If Xhekaj has been this much of a menace in the preseason this year, one can only imagine the carnage he will leave in his way during the regular season when it starts for the Montréal Canadiens on Wednesday.

At this point, it must just be like another day in the office for Xhekaj and company.

Whether you like him or you don't, one thing is for certain watching the Montréal Canadiens this year with Xhekaj in the lineup will be nothing if not entertaining. For a team like the Canadiens that seemed to still be trying to find their footing and creep into the playoff picture that's all you can ask for.

It seems as though this game has been more heated than most, though this preseason hasn't been boring by any stretch.
