During the Boston Bruins and Washington Capitals game, a five minute major was called.
Bruins' Matt Grzelcyk speared Capitals' Max Pacioretty right in the midsection in front of Jeremy Swayman. There was originally no call on the play, but after a review Grzelcyk was given a 5 minute major and a game misconduct on the play.
Pacioretty skated off gingerly after the spear with help from his teammates. He went right to the locker room where he will receive further evaluation.
Pacioretty just returned after a long absence due to an injury that threatened his career, hopefully he's is okay and it's just a little stinger.
Update: Pacioretty has returned.
