Jakob Chyrun has been the subject of countless rumours throughout the latter part of last season and most of the off-season. Now, there appears to be a surprising team in them mix for the young defenders services.
According to Allan Mitchell of the Athletic, the Edmonton Oilers could be a dark horse of sorts in the Chychrun sweepstakes.
The Oilers have already upgraded their goaltending and their depth forward group, if they were to add a defensemen like Chychrun, where does they put them
The 24 year old Chychrun played in just 47 games last year and collected 7 goals and 14 points for 21 points in what was a down year hampered by injuries.
At only 4.5 for the next 4 years, Chychrun is one of those guys you give up a lot for.
The question I have is: how will the Oilers find the cap space? Oh well, I'm not a general manager, I don't have to figure out the logistics, but this is certainly something to keep an eye on.
