Prior to last night's game between the rival Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins, a couple star players engaged in a heartfelt moment, showing their respect for each other off the ice.
Last night was Letang's second game since returning from an injury, and also the first game against the Capitals since he suffered in early December last year.
It's great to see the respect Ovechkin shows for a longtime rival in Letang. Letang seems to reciprocate the gesture, and the two return to warm-up. The entire moment is the epitome of professionalism in the NHL.
In a triumphant return last Tuesday against the Panthers, Letang scored 2 goals, 2 assists, including the game winning goal in overtime. He was held off the scoresheet last night, but Alex Ovechkin notched a power play goal in a 3-2 Capitals a win at home in Washington.
