Arizona Coyotes player unsure if he's willing to return to Arizona or if he'll retire
Andrew Ladd will turn 37-years-old during next season. After being acquired from the New York Islanders last season, Ladd returned to the NHL after spending time in the AHL. Last season with the Coyotes Ladd scored 7 goals and had 12 points in 51 games.
Now though it appears that Ladd is heavily considering his playing future. Last season Ladd was limited to 51 games due to a lower body injury, one which definitely impacted his play. Ladd is in the final year of a contract that paid him $5,500,000 per season.
Due to the structure of Ladd's contract he's only owed $1,000,000 in actual cash after receiving a $3,000,000 bonus on July 1st. Given the strenuous schedule the Coyotes are set to play next season it's hard to believe that Ladd will be willing to travel with the team for limited pay.
If Ladd chooses to retire he will finish his career with 1001 games played and 550 career points.
