On Tuesday night the Colorado Avalanche visited the New Jersey Devils. Early on it appeared like this would be another easy win for the Avalanche against a bottom of the league team. Colorado quickly went up 2-0 after the first period, even while being outshot 14 to 8 by the Devils. Early in the second Cale Makar scored the 3-0 goal and it looked like the game was going to go the Avalanche's way.
That was until the Devils scored 5 unanswered goals and out shot the Avalanche 43 to 26 to steal the win. After the game head coach Jared Bednar said the following;
I thought we were terrible.
I'm not gonna break down the whole game for you guys. We were terrible. It is what it is. We'll take it, get a rest and move on. We were second to every puck. They were skating. We weren't checking. We looked tired. We looked mentally tired.
Coach Jared Bednar was not happy with his team's effort. Even though they played the New York Islanders the night before, he didn't believe his team came out with the enough effort and didn't mince words when he met with the media.
Colorado is currently on a three-game road trip and has Wednesday off before playing another top team in the Carolina Hurricanes Thursday.
