Avalanche don't give qualifying offer to key member of their bottom 6
The Colorado Avalanche will not make a qualifying offer to winger Nicolas Aubé-Kubel, which will make him an unrestricted free agent on Wednesday, The Athletic's Peter Baugh reports.
Aubé-Kubel had 11 goals and 12 assists for 23 points in 74 games with the Stanley Cup champion Avalanche last season.
The 26-year-old didn't record a point in 14 playoff games, but made some headlines by being the player that dropped the Stanley Cup, denting the trophy, prior to a team photo on the ice last month.
Aubé-Kubel has 21 goals and 29 assists in 169 games.
