The Columbus Blue Jackets had a little fun today trolling both the NHL and the Vegas Golden Knights after the mess of the Evgenii Dadonov trade. So in the spirit of April Fool's, the Colorado Avalanche and Columbus Blue Jackets announced they had officially traded mascots.
The Blue Jackets announced they traded their mascot "Stinger" to the Avalanche in exchange for Avalanche mascot "Bernie the Dog."
That's when they would then troll the Knight's trade with the following statement:
TRADE CANCELLED
THE COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS AND COLORADO AVALANCHE ANNOUNCED THAT TODAY'S TRADE OF BERNIE AND STINGER HAS BEEN INVALIDATED. STINGER'S CLAUSE ALLOWED FOR A TRADE TO THE ROCKIES, NOT THE AVS.
It's nice to see at least some teams can laugh at this, because I'm sure the Golden Knights still aren't too happy.
