Hockey players are some of the toughest athletes in the world. They often play through unheard of injuries, all because of the love of the game. Unlike other athletes hockey players are a different breed.
Tonight that was on full display as Boston Bruins defender Mason Lohrei took a deflected puck directly to the face.
Sounds like he lost some chiclets, that's gonna disrupt his night a bit. pic.twitter.com/bMSrmhW1Vu Mr. Tenkrat (@PeterTenkrat) January 3, 2024
On the play Lohrei appears to lose some teeth and has a pretty substantial cut on his chin and mouth. Lohrei lift a visible trail of blood on the ice before heading to the bench. Despite wanting to remain in the game Lohrei was forced to the dressing room due to too much blood on his jersey.
Haha attaboy, looks like he needs to go back for more work or needs a new jersey too much blood on this one. pic.twitter.com/z9pl2Z6m6T Mr. Tenkrat (@PeterTenkrat) January 3, 2024
Mason would eventually return to the game after a few repairs as he continues to showcase just how tough hockey players are.
