Breaking News - Top remaining free agent signs with Western Conference team
Evan Rodrigues was widely considered that best remaining free agent on the market. He'd drawn interest from multiple teams, but an inability to clear cap space eliminated most teams from contention. So after a long wait Rodrigues finally came to terms with a team.
Today it was announced that Rodrigues signed a one-year deal with the defending Stanley Cup Champion, Colorado Avalanche. The deal is worth $2,000,000 and will bring some much needed depth scoring to the Avs.
Rodrigues provides the ability to play both center and wing. In 82 games last season Rodrigues scored 19 goals and added 24 assists for the Penguins. He should be a great add for the Avalanche as they look to repeat.
