To begin the year the Avalanche have been ravaged by injuries, while the Maple Leafs are performing like one of the top teams in the league. This swap of depth players is definitely intriguing.

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has acquired forward Dryden Hunt from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for forward Denis Malgin. Hunt, 27, has registered 14 goals, 28 assists in 193 career games. Hunt was claimed off waivers by the Avalanche earlier this season from the New York Rangers. Hunt has played in 25 games for the Avalanche this season scoring 1 goal, while Malgin has played in 23 games scoring 2 goals and adding 2 assists.
