Brett Pesce given 17-minutes in penalties for attacking Vladislav Namestnikov
During the second period of the Dallas Stars versus Carolina Hurricanes game, Vladislav Namestnikov threw a hit that left Brett Pesce extremely pissed off. On the play Namestnikov caught Pesce with an elbow up high. The elbow dropped Pesce and then Namestnikov tripped over him.
Pesce saw his opportunity, got to his feet and fed Namestnikov 5 or 6 unanswered shots.
On the play Namestnikov was assessed a 2-minute penalty for elbowing and despite not throwing a single punch a 5-minute major for fighting. Pesce on the other hand was given a 2-minute penalty for Instigating, a 5-minute major for fighting and a 10-minute misconduct on the play.
