The Vancouver Canucks demolished the Arizona Coyotes 7-1 on Thursday night. But the victory turned out to be a costly one. During the 2nd period of play Canucks' Captain Bo Horvat blocked a powerful shot by Anton Stralman. The puck hit him just above his ankle. He left the game and didn't return.

The Canucks announced Friday that Horvat will be re-evaluated in two weeks. With only two weeks remaining in the schedule and seven games he will be out for all of them. This is a really tough blow for a team that is on a five game winning streak.

Head Coach Bruce Boudreau told reporters Friday Morning:

I don't think he'll be available Monday. I think Bo is doubtful, would be the best way to put it.

A source said that Horvat was seen using a walking boot and a knee scooter for the time being.

The Canucks play their next two games at home against the Dallas Stars on Monday and the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday. The first two games in a stretch of seven games in 12 days to wrap up the regular season.

This is a huge loss for the Canucks. He's the Captain and does so many other things to help the team win. He leads the team in goals with 31. Plays on the power play and penalty kill. He is the faceoff leader on the team winning 832 draws number two on the team is JT Miller with 558.

The Canucks were already in tough to make the playoffs before this news. Vancouver has 84 points in 75 games. They are five points back of Dallas with 89 for the 2nd Wild Card spot and four points back of the LA Kings for 3rd in the Pacific.

The schedule isn't doing them any favors either. Five of the remaining season games are against teams currently in the playoffs.
