With the score already 4-0 in favour of the Oilers, Flames' forward Milan Lucic took it into his own hand to change the course of the game. As the Flames dumped the puck in, Lucic followed the puck and used the opportunity to run into Mike Smith.
Lucic's collision with Smith immediately set off a scrum that involved everyone on the ice.
On the play Lucic was issued a 5-minute major for charging. Trevor Lewis, Nikita Zadorov, Tyson Barrie, Zach Kassian, Brett Ritchie and Brett Kulak were all given roughing minors on the play.
More concerning for Oilers' fans though was Mike Smith was forced to leave the game with what appeared to be a head injury.
