It's been a pretty dismal season for the Columbus Blue Jackets. They are second last in the league with a 12-25-2 record. Currently in the Connor Bedard sweepstakes. A great thing if they hit in the lottery but goals were much higher before the season started. Columbus landed the biggest free agent on the market last summer Johnny Gaudreau. While Gaudreau is not on the 100 point pace of last season, he's still a over point per game with 11 goals and 38 points in 37 games.

Another player who's becoming a fan favorite is rookie Kirill Marchenko who recently scored his first NHL hat trick against the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday. The 22 year old has played 16 games this season scoring an impressive 8 goals in just 12:31 of average ice time.

Kevin Weekes reports that Marchenko has changed representation in mid December to Dan Milstein of GoldStarHockey. His entry level contract has one year remaining after this season.

Marchenko was recalled on December 5th, with the way he's playing he has no plans of going back down to the AHL.
