Per ESPN's Emily Kaplan Vegas Golden Knights' goalie Robin Lehner season is over as he is reportedly set to undergo season ending knee surgery. The Gothenburg, Sweden native will finish the season with a 23-17-2 with a GAA of 2.83 and a Save % of .907

Robin Lehner is getting season ending surgery, sources told ESPN.

Lehner had battled back from a major knee injury he sustained in Philadelphia on March 8. He gave it all he could but his body finally gave out.

Lehner suffered the injury last month against the Philadelphia Flyers. He has tried to play through it but has come to the decision to opt for surgery and get the recovery process started. Lehner is signed through the 2024-2025 season at a cap hit of 5 million.

Rookie goalie Logan Thompson will now be tasked with backstopping Vegas to a playoff birth. Lehner last appeared in Wednesday's victory against the Washington Capitals. Lehner was pulled after the first and replaced with Thompson.

Thompson has won eight of his past 10 decisions.

According to Vegas Head Coach Pete DeBoer, he has claimed he knows nothing of Lehner's reported surgery.

Golden Knights coach Pete DeBoer said the reports Robin Lehner is undergoing season-ending surgery are not accurate to his knowledge.

"It was a maintenance day today. I expect him at practice tomorrow and I expect him dressed on Sunday." #VegasBorn

Vegas has four games remaining in their season. They trail the Dallas Stars by two points for the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.

It will be interesting to see what information about Lehner ultimately ends up being correct.
