With the Vancouver Canucks having another disappointing season it has players and management thinking of the future. This means likely changes to the team going forward. One of those players contemplating his future is, Connor Garland.
Garland has been a key part of the Vancouver Canucks since joining them via trade this past summer.
I just haven't felt like myself all year. I haven't played a game from start to finish where I felt like myself. I think about last year where you just play my coach in the American League used to say "When you play with a clear head you play well" and I haven't been able to play like that all year. I don't know why but it just has happened.
It's a big difference from the desert (where you're) going to bed with no noises, no street sounds. Adjusting to the city has been a big difference for me. If I'm back here next year, I'll probably live in a neighbourhood and not deal with the city.
The thing that stands out to me most here is Connor Garland saying "IF" he's back next year. That could be just frustration talking, as Garland has had a good year scoring 15 goals, and 27 assists for a total of 42 points in 69 games this season.
Personal performances are great but everybody in the NHL wants to win the Stanley Cup. The Vancouver Canucks are 5th in the Pacific Division and are likely going to need to run the table to even have a shot at the post season.
