During Thursday night's do or die game five between the Los Angeles King and Edmonton Oilers, there was a huge collision at centre ice. Oilers Captain Connor McDavid took a massive hit and for a while it looked like he wouldn't get up.
During the third period, McDavid was turning at centre ice, without the puck, when the Kings' Arthur Kaliyev stood his ground. Kaliyev laid his shoulder into the unsuspecting McDavid. As soon as the refs noticed McDavid couldn't get up, they blew the play dead and then a scrum ensued.
Fortunately McDavid would return to the ice not long after. It was a scary moment for the Oilers who already had their backs up against the wall facing elimination. Game 7 goes Saturday night in Edmonton.
