Connor McDavid is without question the greatest player in the National Hockey League today, but playing on a struggling Edmonton Oilers team seems to be taking its toll on the superstar.
Last night when the Edmonton Oilers took on the Vancouver Canucks, McDavid on a clear cut breakaway loses his footing and complains to the official about the call'. Take a look:
As you can see, the back checking Canucks player didn't touch him, McDavid just lost an edge. Complaining to the ref, falling over while doing so.
Maybe the most disappointing part of all of this is his tantrum lead to a makeup call on his way back up the ice.
Listen, I love McDavid for his skill and what he brings to the game of hockey, but this is a trend I've begun to see with him, if it continues, he might be worse than Crosby in the whining department.
I can't really blame him though, he's stuck in Edmonton and with each passing year, they're wasting more and more of his prime.
