During last year's playoffs a collision with Jordan Binnington ended Binnington's season. The Blues and their fanbase were furious that another Nazem Kadri collision left one of their players injured. But Kadri maintained his innocence in the play.
But the reputation he's picked up likely cost his new team last night. After a scramble in front of the Vegas net allowed the Flames to bury a loose puck, Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy used his coach's challenge. On the play Nic Roy appears to shove Kadri towards the goal causing Kadri to make contact with Logan Thompson.
It appears like Kadri does try to hold up, but it's likely his reputation ultimately cost him on this play. The Flames would go on to win the game 3-2, so this play ended up being inconsequential.
