Detroit Red Wings make a MAJOR splash in free agency
It appears Steve Yzerman is ready for his Detroit Red Wings to take a huge step forward. During other Free Agent markets, Yzerman has sat back and made calculated long-term decisions. Now it appears Yzerman is looking to add talent to his team for a more win now approach.
The day started for Yzerman when it was announced he'd signed veteran defenseman, Ben Chiarot to a deal.
Steve Yzerman wasn't done yet though because he managed to get David Perron signed shortly after acquiring Chiarot.
These moves will definitely help the Red Wings take major steps forward this season.
Update: The Wings have also signed Dominik Kubalik.
The Wings also added Andrew Copp earlier in the day.
