With Shea Weber having been traded, the Montreal Canadiens are left with no Captain. The Canadiens went all of last season without anyone wearing the "C" on their uniform.
When the Canadiens arrived on stage to announce the first overall pick, there was a player among the brass.
Nick Suzuki.
Does this appearance mean something?
It appears at least one hockey account believes that to be the case. Suzuki has shown great leadership abilities, especially since the arrival of Martin St. Louis.
Expect the Canadiens to make an announcement before next season as they look to usher in a new era.
