Dysfunction in Team Canada locker room as Dylan Guenther appears to take shot at Connor Bedard
Canada lost game 1 of the World Juniors by a score of 5-2 to Team Czechia. The disappointing loss was highlighted by selfish play and an overall lack of cohesiveness. Early in the game this was highlighted by two failed attempts at 'The Michigan'.
The moves were attempted by two of this year's top prospects in Adam Fantilli and Connor Bedard. Both players failed at their attempts, setting the tone for the game.
After the game Shane Wright admitted Canada didn't take Czechia seriously and now Dylan Guenther has taken a shot at his teammates and their attempts to score a highlight reel goal.
We're not going to Michigan' our way to the final.
We're trying to win by just relying on our talent, outwitting guys in one-on-one situations. To win, we have to play as a team.
Both Bedard and Fantilli are exceptional talents, but this is why players like Mason MacTavish have played so well at these tournaments with their team first attitudes.
