The Edmonton Oilers are in the market for a goalie. After their long playoff run it was clear Mike Smith isn't the answer and Mikko Koskinen has returned to Europe to play in Switzerland. According to Mark Spector, the Oilers have been connected to both Jack Campbell and Ville Husso, to fill their goaltending gaps.

Jack Campbell is available, as it's been reported since the end of the Toronto Maple Leafs' season that the team and Campbell are not finding a common ground on pay.

With Mike Smith's future questionable, that leaves AHL depth to fill in the gap. While the Oilers have Stuart Skinner, who isn't a bad goalie by any means, but he's likely not ready to man the net on a full-time basis.

Jack Campbell was last known to be asking for a $5 million dollar AAV, with the Leafs pressed against the cap, it's not looking promising for him. While Ken Holland, often spends like a kid in a candy store. Will he take less to end up as the starter elsewhere?

In comparison to the other goaltenders, the 30-year-old Campbell, who posted a 31-9-6 record with a 2.64 goals-against-average (GAA) and a .914 save percentage (SV%), looks like a reasonable option between the pipes.

So the question is, will Holland bite on a proven goalie or roll with Skinner?
