Ryan McDonagh could face suspension for dangerous hit from behind
It has been no secret that during these playoffs the officiating in the NHL has been absolutely brutal and inconsistent. The frustration of the bad refereeing, on top of being dominated by the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday night, took a toll on the Tampa Bay Lightning. There were only two total penalties called during Game 6, one for each team. Even Tampa Bay captain Steven Stamkos couldn't hold back his frustration.
During the second period, Ryan McDonagh nailed Darren Helm from behind while he didn't even have the puck. This was a scary looking play and the referees had no choice but to call a penalty.
