The Arizona Coyotes will play next season in Tempe, Arizona after getting kicked out of their former arena in Glendale. The City of Glendale, who operates the arena, evicted the Coyotes for missing multiple payments to the city. But it seems like the Coyotes will be bringing a piece of the old arena with them to their new home.
The NHL this year introduced small sponsorship patches to team Jerseys for this upcoming season. Gila River Resorts & Casinos secured their name on the Coyotes' jersey this season. They are also the sponsor of the Coyotes former home, the Gila River Arena in Glendale.
So I guess there wasn't any hard feelings between Gila River and the Arizona Coyotes. Arizona's first home game in their new arena is scheduled for October 28th.
