Flyers host a brilliant tribute to their Captain Claude Giroux
Tonight is a very unique situation. The Philadelphia Flyers are entering into a franchise re-tool and that means that they're moving on from their long-time Captain Claude Giroux. What complicates the situation was that tonight was Giroux's 1000th NHL Game. This is something that not only meant a lot to Giroux, but also to the Flyers and their fans.
With the trade deadline scheduled for Monday it's strange to see Giroux taking the ice for what is likely to be the very last time as a Flyer. The Flyers are rumoured to be sending Giroux to the Florida Panthers as early as tomorrow.
But tonight wasn't about what's next, it was about the amazing journey Giroux took with the Flyers and this amazing tribute.
