With the trade deadline only 5 days away, teams are starting to take precautions with players who could potentially be traded. The Seattle Kraken are 31st in the overall standings, making them definite sellers this season.
One player that teams have been calling about is their captain, Mark Giordano. The former Norris Trophy winner is now 38 years old but can still offer a leadership role on any team that wants him. He has amassed 23 points this year from the blue line. Giordano comes with a cap hit of $6.75 million, but is in the final year of his contract so I wouldn't be surprised if Seattle was willing to retain some of the cap hit.
The Seattle Kraken will be holding Mark Giordano out of tonight's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, so a trade should be imminent. Giordano does have a modified no-trade clause where he can submit a list of 19 teams he can be traded to. He has expressed interest in giving it one more shot at the Stanley Cup so don't be surprised to see him traded in the coming days.
Giordano is rumoured to have shared his preference is to be traded to Calgary or Toronto.
