Former Stanley Cup Champions career may be over due to injury
The off season has already been full of bad news at potential career ending injuries. Washington Capital, Nicklas Backstrom who was forced to undergo what could be career ending surgery. Today it was revealed that another member of that time could be facing the end of their career due to injury.
On The Daily FaceOff Podcast Frank Seravalli revealed that goaltender Braden Holtby is expected to miss all of the 2022/23 season. Seravalli continued that Holtby's career could be over due to this issue.
Holtby had a strong season last year posting a .913 save percentage and a goals against average of 2.78 with the Stars last season.
Holtby won the Vezina Trophy in 2016 and a Stanley Cup in 2018 before leaving Washington for Vancouver.
