Evgeni Dadonov is known as a very good offensive player around the NHL. He built that reputation after 3 very successful seasons in Florida with the Panthers. In those seasons he totaled a combined 182 points before he signed a free agent contract to join the Ottawa Senators. But after one disappointing season with the Senators Dadonov was dealt to the Vegas Golden Knights.

But due to salary cap issues Dadonov was traded to the Montreal Canadiens from the Vegas Golden Knights during this off-season. But it was another attempted Dadonov trade that grabbed headlines last season. At the deadline the Knights attempted to trade Dadonov to the Anaheim Ducks, but that deal was blocked by Dadonov's no trade list.

After the blocked trade there was an awkward vibe surrounding Dadonov in Vegas and now a former teammate has taken a shot at him and his offensive abilities. Jonathan Marchessault and Dadonov only played a single season together in Vegas, but it appears Marchessault had a very strong opinion of his former teammate.

He's a guy who does an honest job. He has good offensive production, but for sure when he played with Barkov and Huberdeau [in Florida], I think my 8-year-old could have done well with those two guys as well.

After comments about the culture in Vegas from Max Pacioretty, it's very interesting to hear a player like Marchessault taking a shot at a former teammate this way. It will be interesting to see if Bruce Cassidy can help change the culture in Vegas and get the team back in the playoffs.
