The New York Rangers were going into game 2 looking to tie the series with the Pittsburgh Penguins after a tough 4-3 triple overtime loss in game one. The New York Rangers came out flying from the opening faceoff. The Rangers would strike first and then continue to add to their lead. The Penguins tried to fight back but the Rangers would build up a 5-2 lead.
Thing would get heated when Jeff Carter clipped Igor Shesterkin near the Rangers' net. It's difficult to tell if it was intentional or accidental.
The play would lead to a huge scrum with all the Rangers wanting a piece of Carter.
Thankfully for the Rangers, Shesterkin seems to be alright. Jeff Carter was sent to the room for the rest of the night and the Rangers would go on to tie the series 1-1 heading back to Pittsburgh.
