With the Anaheim Ducks still not doing well in the National Hockey League standing and star goaltender John Gibson being open to a change of scenery as stated in the off-season, there are new teams in the running for his services.

According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Carolina Hurricanes and New Jersey Devils are in the running for Gibson, especially given each teams current goaltending situation; take a look.

Elliotte talks about John Gibson and wonders if Carolina or New Jersey could be interested because of their current goalie situations. Says Carolina is prepared for the chance Frederik Andersen doesn't play again this year. #FlyTogether #CauseChaos #NJDevils #NHL #NHLHockey

There's a change that Hurricanes goaltender Frederik Andersen doesn't play again this year while he deals with a medical issue and of course the Devils are having troubles of their own.

Gibson, 30, has played in 18 games for Anaheim this season, sporting a 5-11-0 record with a 2.82 goals against average and a .906 save percentage. Not bad numbers considering how the Ducks are performing this year.

Gibson could stabilize the goaltending situation on either team, but which one is going to make a play for him? Seems like we'll find out sooner rather than later.
