Insider reveals exactly what it would cost the Toronto Maple Leafs to acquire Jakob Chychrun
Jakob Chychrun has reportedly been on the trade market for a better part of a year now. The Arizona Coyotes agreed to accomodate the veteran defenseman's trade request. But the Coyotes have also made it clear that they won't just give Chychrun away either.
Over the last week it appears that the Coyotes have some new found motivation to get a Chychrun deal done though. For the first time since negotiations began it appears that the Coyotes have softened in their asking price. The Coyotes also now appear willing to take on salary in return to get a potential deal down.
There have been consistent rumors that 6 or more teams have been involved in the trade discussions. For the first time there is some clarity on what it would cost at least one team to get a deal done.
According to Mike in Buffalo the asking price for the Leafs would be the following:
While those 3 assets would be a high price to pay, if the Maple Leafs could so while convince Arizona to take Topi Niemela and Nick Robertson they could make the deal without removing anyone from their current roster.
The Leafs would likely have to send back Alex Kerfoot to offset the salary cap, but the move would vastly improve the Leafs defense.
