Will he attain a spot in the hall of fame on those stats alone? Not likely but as the Captain of the Tampa Bay Lightning, let's take a look at his career.
Drafted 1st overall in 2008 by the Tampa Bay Lightning, he hasn't strayed far from scout's reports and even maintains a quality of play late in his tenure in Tampa Bay.
Stamkos is a two-time Rocket Richard Trophy winner in 2010 with 51 goals scored and in 2012, putting 60 goals in a season.
Despite losing the Stanley Cup finals this year to the Colorado Avalanche this year, Stamkos has been in a total of 4 Stanley Cup finals, his first unsuccessful run against the Chicago Blackhawks dynasty of 2015.
As a result of injuries, his post-season production is anemic in many ways and has hampered his team as a result.
He deserves a spot and I know many Columbus Blue Jackets fans will eternally reference the sweep in 2019, but Stamkos when healthy is an elite player who hasn't been under 40 points in 13 years.
His 8-year reign as the Lightning Captain, under Jon Cooper's coaching, has been a successful pairing.
The real question is where will the Lightning place at the end of the 2023-2024 season?
