The New York Islanders at hosting the Detroit Red Wings tonight. With both teams not where they want to be in the standings, there has to be some frustration there, but sometimes, certain players make decisions that leave you scratching your head.
This is what happened in the first period of action tonight when Islander forward J.G Pageau was called for slashing the stick out of the hands of Michael Rasmussen, take a look:
Sometimes you just have no idea what goes through a players head. Pageau and the Islanders are in the attacking zone and there's no reason to do anything, much less take a penalty here.
Things like this that would not only drive your coach insane, but also your teammates as well. Any momentum generated is gone with that penalty 200 feat away from your own net.
Thankfully, the Islanders were able to kill off the penalty and there's no score at the end of the first period.
