The Vancouver Canucks have had a rough time since they lost the 2011 Stanley Cup final to the Boston Bruins. They haven't really been able to create that calibre of team since, and while they still may be a little ways off, the re-signing of J.T Miller certainly helps. However, his most recent comments show a complete lack of character.

In an appearance on the Dropping Gloves podcast, Miller stated that if he doesn't score in the first game of the year, they'll burn his jersey. Miller Of course is referring to the Canucks faithful who are passionate and have been through more than their share of heartache.

This is not something you want to hear as a Canucks fan, with their breakout star seemingly about to hit free agency next off-season. In fact, this is not only poor form, but sounds as if he's throwing a preemptive tantrum on the way out the door.

I'll give J.T Miller this, he had a fantastic season last year collecting 32 goals and 67 assists for 99 points in 80 games last year. Far and away his best season in the National Hockey League, but, I think his ego has gotten the best of him and he no longer sounds like the kind of person you want in your locker room, much less addressing the fans.

This comment was not only poor form, now he's almost guaranteed that someone will surely throw his jersey on the ice come the home opener. I never agree with someone tossing a jersey, but in this case, if someone chose to, it would be justified.
