Toronto Maple Leafs' captain John Tavares has taken his share of heat throughout his career. Tavares hasn't lived up to the expectations of being a generational player in the NHL after breaking Wayne Gretzky's Ontario Hockey League record for most points. Tavares had a good rookie season with the New York Islanders scoring 24 goals and 54 points in 82 games as a 18 year old.
Unfortunately for Tavares after being a New York Islander for 9 season's he's now public enemy number one on Long Island. This after deciding to join his childhood team as a free agent back in 2018.
Tavares is now captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs and has been there for 4 seasons, putting up good numbers. But now he is beginning to take some heat due to the Maple Leafs not being able to get beyond the first round.
Tavares and his wife Aryne are enjoying their summer like the rest of the NHL players, but while at a music festival a fan noticed Tavares in. the upper bowl. The fan decided to try and tell Tavares how he felt about him.
While Tavares has lost a few steps, he still possess elite vision, so maybe, just maybe he saw this.
