While a lot of talk in Alberta has been about the struggles of Jack Campbell, there is another goalie struggling in the province. Jacob Markstrom has had a very difficult start of his own this year. With a save percentage of .887 and a goals against average above 3, Markstrom has fallen from his Vezina Trophy level play.

His struggles started last year during the playoffs against the Edmonton Oilers and have carried over into this year. The Flames have relied more on backup goaltender Dan Vladar because of this. Now today in Florida, Markstrom didn't do himself any favors giving up another bad goal.

As the Panthers dump the puck in, it seems that Markstrom forgets all about the Panthers forecheck. Markstrom heads behind the net to play the puck, but he's beaten to it by Colin White. White moves past Markstrom and quickly wraps around the net for a goal.

The goal made the game 2-1 and gave the Panthers life. The Flames were able to come away with the win in the shootout, but Markstrom's play is definitely a concern for the Flames he hoped to be Cup contenders.
