The Tampa Bay Lightning selected Issac Howard with their first round pick, 31st overall. The Sportsnet panel brought attention to Howard's choice of outfit for the draft, claiming it looked like a piece of the Auston Matthews collection.
When asked about his attire afterwards Howard would show his cockiness/confidence with his answer:
Well I feel I'm the best looking guy here so I decided to be the best dressed too.
This garnered some heat for Howard, but it surprisingly came from an NHL veterans. Hockey Legend Jaromir Jagr would also comment on Howard who calls himself "The Iceman":
Hockey has changed this kid is lucky it's not the 1990's. Big guys would change his face.
Jagr would go onto share he wasn't trying to insult Howard, but he was just saying how I sees it from his own experience and maybe this kid is going to be a great hockey player. He wishes him the best.
There is a fine line between cocky and confident that Howard is going to have to walk if he wants to keep up his swagger.
