Jesper Bratt gets himself a huge payday
Jesper Bratt led the New Jersey Devils in scoring last season. The 24-year-old Bratt put up 73 points in 76 games while playing on multiple lines with multiple linemates. Luckily for Bratt he had the best season of his career in a contract year.
Bratt just completed a 2-year deal with an average annual value of $2,750,000. Bratt had filed for arbitration after not being able to come to terms with the Devils.
Today though the Devils announced they'd avoided arbitration with Bratt.
**Breaking News** 🚨📰
I'm told the @NJDevils and Jesper Bratt are finalizing a 1Yr 5.45 M contract extension ahead of the Arbitration hearing which was scheduled today. @espn @NHLNetwork @NHL #HockeyTwitter
This deal will take Bratt back to another year of restricted free agency, but returns the Devils top scorer to their lineup.
