Edmonton Oilers' forward Jesse Puljujarvi was among two dozen NHL players who filed for salary arbitration prior to the deadline Sunday afternoon.

Paul Almeida, an Oilers writer formerly with TSN 1260, has stated that Jesse Puljujarvi will likely be traded for a pick. This counters reports that Holland wants a player back for the Bison King.

Teams have been hesitant to acquire Puljujarvi because of his Arbitration case, and how high his contract will be. The interested teams have asked the Oilers to take back some money, which they don't want to do.

Puljujarvi, 24, completed at two-year, $2.35-million contract with an average annual value of $1.175 million. He had 14 goals and 36 points in 65 games.

Many Insiders believe, Oilers general manager Ken Holland is shopping Puljujarvi, but is having problems finding a suitor for the former 4th overall pick in 2016.

If Holland can't find a trading partner, it is very possible Puljujarvi makes it to his arbitration hearing and the Oilers would have to deal with whatever he is awarded, which could be hard to stomach. With limited cap space the Oilers will likely look to trade Puljujarvi in the coming weeks.
