Knight Joining Panthers Development Camp
Florida Panthers young goalie Spencer Knight appears to be taking a step to returning to the Panthers in the fall.
The 22 year old is technically not eligible to participate in the Florida Panthers upcoming development camp. Knight appealed to the NHL to attend and was granted a special provision because he missed the final months of Florida's season due to leaving the team to join the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program.
The 13th overall pick from the 2019 draft has spent parts of three seasons with the Panthers. Knight had his GAA balloon to 3.18 and save percentage grow to .901, while sporting a 9-8-1 record last season.
Knight is expected to join the Panthers for regular training camp in September and compete for the backup spot with newly-signed Anthony Stolarz for the No. 2 job behind Sergei Bobrovsky.
