Latest news Jonathan Toews confirms the future Hall of Famers career is likely over
Without question when Jonathan Toews hangs up his skates he'll certainly be enshrined into the Hockey Hall of Fame. The Chicago Blackhawks captain has accomplished everything he could have ever imagined. But like every player his time eventually comes to an end.
After a battle with Chronic Immune or Inflammatory Response Syndrome, Toews fought back to return to the NHL. But upon his return it was clear Toews wasn't the player he once was. Toews continued to battle through those health issues, before having to miss extended time once again last season.
After the season ended it was announced that Toews wouldn't return to the Blackhawks for next season. However, it was expected that Toews would test free agency. That wasn't the case though.
According to Mark Spector it appears that Toews wasn't even included on his agencies list of available players for this summer.
When CAA agency sent its list of free agents to NHL teams prior to July 1, the list excluded client Jonathan Toews.
It does not sound, at this time, like he will play next season. Final decision not yet made.
This revelation goes a very long way to showing where Toews head is at. If this is the end for Jonathan Toews he'll be remembered as the guy who helped return the Blackhawks to Dynasty status and as one of the most successful modern day Blackhawks.
