The New York Islanders and Nazem Kadri have reportedly been working hard to finalize a deal. Kadri has been rumoured to have already had a deal in place with the Islanders. It is reported a deal has been being worked on every since General Manager, Lou Lamoriello fell short in his quest to sign Johnny Gaudreau.

However, Hockey Insider Frank Seravalli believes that Lamoriello is attempting to move money in order to fit the Kadri contract on the books. Seravalli believes that Lamoriello is working to trade Anthony Beauvillier. Seravalli believes that Beauvillier would draw a lot of interest around the league.

There have also been other rumors that Josh Bailey would be an alternative option if the Islanders are unable to move Beauvillier.

Pagnotta shared the following:

There are a few different dominos that are eventually going to fall here once this does come into play and is officially finalized. The Islanders have some house cleaning they need to do with some of their restricted free agents, my understanding is that's moving forward as well - It's just a matter now with $11 million in cap space, clearing some additional space to make all the pieces fit. The one player that is continuously part of (trade) speculation is Josh Bailey. He's got two years left on his contract, $5 million cap hit, my understanding is that he is a player that is still out there that is somebody they're trying to move.

Kadri had the best year of his NHL career last season with 87 points, and he was also a key piece in the Colorado Avalanche's first Stanley cup since 2001.
