Maple Leafs comment on Mitch Marner being carjacked at gun point
Last night details were revealed that Mitch Marner had been carjacked at gunpoint. The carjacking occured at the Queensway Cineplex. The Toronto Police Services released the following information:
Today the Toronto Maple Leafs held their year end media availability and provided the following information:
We can confirm Mitch Marner was the unfortunate victim of a carjacking in Etobicoke on Monday evening. He was unharmed in the incident and the Club & Mitch are thankful for Toronto Police Services' support. Anyone with information is asked to reach out to Toronto Police Services.
TPS has asked that neither Mitch or the Club comment any further on the details of the incident as this is an ongoing investigation.
Mitch Marner was not made available to the media today and is expected to speak to the media at a later date.
Jason Spezza provided the following comment about the incident:
I don't really even know the full extent of everything went down, but it's scary, that's life. That's not hockey. That's scary. That stuff is jarring. So happy to see that he's okay.
