William Nylander just posted that best season of his career. In 81 games Nylander posted a career high 80 points, while playing on the second line with John Tavares. Nylander also spent time on the Maple Leafs top powerplay adding 13 goals and 31 total powerplay points.

Since losing to the Tampa Bay Lightning, Kyle Dubas has been looking at ways to improve his team. While it seemed that Dubas would refuse to move a member of the Core Four it appears that may no longer be the case.

According to Hockey Blogger, Eklund the Maple Leafs are heavily considering an offer that would send William Nylander to the desert in exchange for Jakob Chychrun.

The Panthers have been around Chychrun before as well, but the asking price was truly nuts versus, how much they needed Chychrun. The price is still high, but Toronto, desperate to change their fates are «seriously considering a mega offer» that would include Nylander, a first and a prospect or 2.

If the rumours are true it would mark a much different approach to Kyle Dubas' plan moving forward. But for a team already lacking additional depth at forward the Maple Leafs would be looking for even more from Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner and John Tavares.
